Portuguese Police  and the Authority for proper  working conditions (ACT) have  identified 32 Romanians living in "deplorable conditions" while picking olives on farms in the  Alentejo district, the news agency Lusa informed, quoted by Portugal News Online

In addition to the 32 Romanians, the  authorities have also  identified three Portuguese citizens.

According to ACT, the Romanians were employed in Spain by a Spanish company for "various tasks",  theportugalnews.com writes.

ACT said it would open an investigation into the situation because "it is a case where workers are brought to Portugal".
