The draft emergency ordinance that modifies the Referendum Law was aproved by the Government, according to Antena 3 television.
The project changes the condition for the validation of the referendum, so that the President can be dismissed from his job with a majority of those present at the polls, instead of the majority of the voters registered on the electoral lists.
The draft emergency ordinance was published in ”Monitorul Oficial”.
President Traian Băsescu can be changed now with 50 percent + 1 vote of the total votes cast.
