Starting January 1st, tourists will have to pay a 5 LEI city tax in Cluj-Napoca. The money will go towards the tourism budget, created after an European model. More than 4 million lei a year are expected to be collected this way.
City taxes are popular in Italy, Spain and France and they vary according to hotel type and price range.
