The opening of the IKEA store in Bucharest in 2007 was a true “revolution” on the profile products market. As soon as Romanians have felt the taste of the Swedish products they have requested that a new store be opened in another big city in Romania.
The cities of Braşov, Constanţa or even Cluj have made it on the "short" list. In this sense, 4.000 inhabitants of Cluj have signed a petition that they have send to the IKEA Romania’s top management. ”To the management of IKEA Romania. We have learnt about your plans to extend your company’s operations in Romania and considering that a lot of inhabitants from Cluj purchase IKEA products from the store in Bucharest or Budapest, we are hereby asking you to consider opening a new store in our city. We are convinced that such an action would be highly successful”, the petition reads.
However, store representatives cannot promise anything regarding the future location of the store, and by 2014 will not take any action in this regard.
