Mihai Razvan Ungureanu will not run in the presidential elections on behalf of the PDL. Liviu Negoiţă: We will have our own candidate to the presidential elections

The PDL will have its own candidate for the Presidency, the PDL first vice-president, Liviu Negoiţă announced Monday indicating that personalities from outside the party and unaffiliated can join the internal debate, excluding Mihai-Răzvan Ungureanu.

"Mr. Ungureanu is politically committed, he has got a party", Liviu Negoiţă specified, according to Mediafax.

He was asked by the journalists to comment on Mihai Răzvan Ungureanu’s proposal that right wing parties have one candidate for the presidential elections.
‘We have stated that the PDL will have its own candidate to the Presidency. I emphasize, the PDL!’, Negoiţă specified.

Negoiţă also pointed out that in the PDL internal campaign, to start this fall, ‘ personalities that are not currently from the PDL’ can join too, if ‘they are not politically committed’.
Asked if Ungureanu could be the PDL’s candidate for the Presidential elections, Liviu Negoiţă replied: "Well, is he a PDL member?".

Negoiţă was also asked if the PDL would consider a merge with the Civic Force run by Mihai-Răzvan Ungureanu.

"Whomever wants to join the PDL, by merging, that is up for discussion ", Liviu Negoiţă replied.
