According to a press statement released by the Presidential Administration, President Traian Basescu signed the release from office , as of February 1,of the presidential advisers Gabriel Berca, Adrian Rădulescu, Sebastian Lăzăroiu, Virgil Păunescu, Daniel-Petru Funeriu.
The head of state signed the decision to release from office the state councillors Maria Bitang, Raluca Boboc and Daniel-Andrei Moldoveanu, also starting on February 1.
Yesterday, political sources stated that several counsellors from Cotroceni counting Adrian Rădulescu and Gabriel Berca could quit their jobs to enrol in the People’s Movement Party.
Information to that effect has been passed around under the framework of the Bucharest Court of Appeal pending decision on the appeal related to the registration as a party of the People’s Movement Party.

Who are the eight concerned
Gabriel Berca has served as presidential adviser on issues of public policy and administration in the Department for Relations with Public Authorities and Civil Society since March 2013. Previously, Gabriel Berca was President of PDL Bacau and Minister of Interior in the Ungureanu Cabinet, Mediafax reports.
Adrian Rădulescu has been presidential adviser in the Department of Public and Social Policies. Radulescu is former Secretary of State in the Ministry of Agriculture, during the Boc Governement.
Sebastian Lăzăroiu has served as presidential adviser in the Department of Policy Analysis. Lăzăroiu became a presidential adviser in June 2012 after he had held this position in 2007. Since June 2011, he held the position of Minister of Labour, on 16 September the same year, the President signed the decision to withdraw his membership from the Executive.
Virgil Păunescu has served as presidential adviser in the Public Health Department.
Daniel Funeriu, former minister of Education in the Boc Government, he has held the office of presidential adviser in the Research and Education Department.
Maria Bitang has been state councillor in the Department for the Relation with public authorities and civil society, in the field of sport promotion.
Raluca Boboc has held the office of state councillor in the Department of Political Analysis.
Daniel Moldoveanu has been state councillor in the National Security Department.
Up to now, the Presidential Administration has employed 11 presidential advisers and 12 state councillors.
The councillor who will keep their offices in Cotroceni
After the eight advisers have been released from office, starting with February 1, the Presidential Administration will keep in office the following Presidential Administration Cristian Diaconescu (the President’s Chancellery), Iulian Fota (Department of National Security), Iulian Chifu (Department of Strategic Affairs and International Security ), Claudiu Constantin Dinu ( Constitutional Legal Department ), Bogdan-Alexandru Drăgoi (Business Environment Department), Bogdan Mănoiu (European Affairs Department ).
The Presidential Administration will keep in office the following state councillors Dorel Constantin Onaca ( the President’s Chancellery), Gheorghe-Răzvan Murgeanu (the President’s Chancellery), Ion Oprişor (Department of National Security), Bogdan Oprea (Department of Public Communications), Gabriel-Cristian Pişcociu (Public Authorities and Civil Society Relations Department), Cristian-Gabriel Hriţuc (Public Authorities and Civil Society Relations Department), Delia Dinu (Protocol), Gheorghe Angelescu (the Orders Chancellery ), Andreia Cristina Iana (Human Resources Management Department).
Official sources stated Tuesday that Marian Tutilescu, former head of the Schengen Department within the Ministry of Administration and Interior will be taken on board president Traian Băsescu’s team in the Cotroceni Palace.
According to quoted sources, the offer to join the Cotroceni team has been made to Tutilescu right after he retired from the Ministry.
