According to www.cotidianul.ro, prosecutor George Balan revealed how former PDL Justice Minister Monica Macovei, current MEP, pressured the prosecutors who investigated the MISA case and demanded the acquittal of Gregorian Bivolaru.
"The former minister Monica Macovei has had several public interventions in which she requested, on the one hand, the investigation and punishment of judges who have worked on this file, and the acquittal of the defendant Gregorian Bivolaru".
"My colleagues and they were about 8 prosecutors, have received negatively the appeals of Justice Minister on their punishment during the MISA investigation, and especially her public intervention concerning the investigation of defendant Gregorian Bivolaru or return of the case to the prosecution. Again, all these statements were made when the investigation was pending, bringing a sense of hopelessness among team work, "said George Balan in July 2012.
