Romanian Carol Eduard Novak comfortably won the gold medal in the men’s individual pursuit in the track cycling competition following on from his world record performance in the heats this morning, at London 2012 Paralympic Games.

The silver medal was awarded to Jiri Jezek of the Czech Republic, while british cyclist Jody Cundy has won the bronze medal.

This is the first gold medal ever won by a romanian athlete at the Paralympic Games and the second medal overall. The previous medal - a silver - was also won by Carol Novak at 2008 Paralympics Games at Beijing.
