President Traian Basescu expressed Wednesday his "full support" to the former Prime Minister of Ukraine, Yulia Tymoshenko, conveying his sincere solidarity, during a meeting he had at the Presidential Palace with her daughter, Yevgenia.
"My best greetings and my support for Yulia, to you and to your party. We highly appreciate Yulia’s struggle for democracy," Basescu said at the beginning of the meeting with Yevgenia Tymoshenko, Agerpress reports..
After Yulia Tymoshenko’s imprisonment in August 2011, Yevgenia Tymoshenko conducted a campaign for the release of her mother, during the recent year she visited several major capitals such as Berlin, Paris and Washington, being present also in Strasbourg, at the ECHR hearings in the case of the former Ukrainian prime minister.
Băsescu asked Yevgenia Tymoshenko to convey to her mother on his behalf, his sincere solidarity.
