EU member states will give more money to international humanitarian organisations and countries accommodating more refugees. The funds meant to help manage the migration crisis were doubled, and are now totalling nine and a half billion euros.

Romania too will help pool this sum of money. The number of immigrants this country is supposed to take in was set at over six thousand.

Refugees must receive assistance as close to Syria and the other crisis areas as possible, European leaders concluded. thus, EU member countries will grant one billion euros to the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, the World Food Program and other similar agencies. Romania will contribute to this effort.

The European Union will boost its immediate aid to Lebanon, Jordan, Turkey and other neighbours of Syria, as well as to Italy, Greece and the Balkan countries forming the frontline of this refugee crisis.

The migrant quotas are the ones set by the Interior Ministers of the member countries on Tuesday and Romania is expected to shelter 6,351 citizens who fled from Syria, Iraq and Eritreea.
