The news was broadcast on Sigma TV channel, citing an incoming message received by the Politis newspaper, signed by an ‘accounts rescue group, " Agerpress reports.
" Be warned that it is not a joke . We will begin with your grandchildren, then we will deal with your children, and we will leave you to the end, to feel the same pain that we are feeling ", the threatening message reads.
The people who have sent the threat do not belong to any political party or organization.
„We swear you will die”, the threatening letter reads, requiring the immediate stop of the taxation on bank deposits.
According to the same text ‘ our group operates on the entire territory of Cyprus and they will punish those who have brought the country into its current state”.
The Politis newspaper handed the message over to the police, who has already started an investigation.
It is not the first time the governor of the Central Bank of Cyprus has received death threats. He has already sent his wife and children abroad, even if he had to withdraw them from school.
