Most of the case files are targeting Traian Băsescu himself, investigated over the last 10 years in several criminal cases.
Nearly, all the members of the Băsescu family are involved in one way or the other in some criminal case. The most targeted of them all is the former president. Currenlty he is being investigated in 7 case files pending trial and more than 60 cases over the last 10 years. Moreover, Traian Băsescu is prosecuted in at least 3 other case files , one initiated by senator Gabriela Firea, another concerning the illegal retrocession of 67 apartments and the case file concerning the Mihăileanu house, a building which Băsescu took over illegally during the time he was mayor of Bucharest. Recently, the general prosecutor has asked for the reopening of the case file Băsescu-Căşuneanu, where the former president could be investigated for money laundering .
The ex-president's brother, Mircea Basescu, is prosecuted for bribery, he was placed in custody and now he is under house arrest.
Radu Pricop, son-in law of Traian Basescu is also prosecuted for complicity to extortion in two case files, one of them concerning the illegal restitution of a property in which he is accused of forgery and fraud.
The eldest daughter of the former president, Ioana Basescu is a witness in the Nana case, she is the owner of the land plot , her property being now under attachment by the Prosecutor General.
The president’s other daughter, Elena Băsescu, might also be involved in a criminal case. She appears in the denunciation of former minister Gabriel Sandu, in the Microsoft case and has been involved in the case file of former Youth Minister , Monica Iacob Ridzi.
The son in law of Traian Băsescu’s daughter , Bebe Ionescu, appears in the bakers case file, while his son, Syda Ionescu, denounced by the family of Bercea Mondial as being the middleman in the bribery case.
The picture is complete by the nephew of the ex president’s brother , namely the son of Mircea Băsescu, investigated by the DNA as suspect in an influence peddling case. .

Basescu's nephew Dragos Basescu was brought by warrant this morning at DNA. The son of Mircea Basescu could be indicted in a case of influence peddling. Specifically, Dragos Basescu would have demanded one million euros from businessman promising to help with a case investigated by DIOCT.
