Code Yellow of Snow was Issued for this Saturday. The affected areas
Maramures, Crisana and Banat Counties, West Transilvania and the Occidental Carpatic areas are going under a code yellow warning of rain, starting Saturday afternoon at 2PM.
According to the National Administration of Meteorology, the warning will stay in place from March 17, at 3PM, to March 18, at 8 AM, and it includes 17 counties.
Starting Saturday afternoon, the rain will affect the west and north west of the country, as well as the mountain areas that will accumulate 20-25 liters/mp of water, and 40-50 in some isolated areas. On the second part of Saturday night , on the north west of the country there will be mixed precipitations and glazed frost.The wind will be moderate, with some local intensifications of 50-55 km/h
There will be wind intensifications in other regions as well, with higher speeds that might reach 55-65 km/h during the night, in the south-east regions. At the mountain areas, especially over the cliffs of the Meridionali Carpati, the wind will be felt very strongly, with gusts of over 80-90 km/h
Starting Saturday afternoon, at 6PM, until Sunday morning at 8AM, a yellow code warning of snow was issued, with possible snow covering the ground, for the northern region of Moldova and Carpati Orientali.
In these areas, at first there will be mixed precipitations, that will favor a glazed frost, followed by snow. Locally, the snow will build on the ground. The wind will have some intensifications, with a speed between 50-55 km/h, and over 70km/h at mountain areas
