Snow Storm Warning in Bucharest and Several Other Counties
Meteorologist issued on Monday a code yellow warning of sleet, snow, winds and wind intensifications valid until Tuesday afternoon in 19 counties of Oltenia, Muntenia and Banat, as well as in Bucharest.
According to these news, between March 19 and March 20 at 3PM in Banat, most of Oltenia, Occidental Carpati and west of Meridionali Carpati, and starting Monday night, March 19, until Tuesday morning, March 20, there will be snowing moderate and the snow will be accumulating on the ground. On south Oltenia glazed frost will form, and on extended areas in Muntenia, especially at night, there will be precipitations in the form of sleet, with local glazed frost, followed by snow storms, and 10-15 cm of snow accumulated on the ground.
In Dobrogea there will be precipitations in the form of rain, sleet and snow, abd isolated more quantitatively, around 15-20 liters/mp, with glazed frost forming. The wind will get stronger with a speed of 50-55 km/h, and higher at the mountain areas, as well as at the seaside during Tuesday, March 20, where the wind will reach 65 km/h.
According to the National Meteorology Administration (ANM), the whole country is still under the warning of snow, glazed frost, wind intensification and extremely low temperatures.
Between March 19, 1:30 PM and March 20, 8 PM, there will be snowing on most areas of the country and on certain areas glazed frost will form, and snow will collect on the ground. The wind will have some intensifications, in most regions with a speed of 50-60 km/h, and in the high mountain areas it will exceed 70-80 km/h, with very strong snow gusts. The weather will remain extremely cold for this time of year.
