The Committee on Civil Liberties urges members of the European Parliament to add Romania and Bulgaria to the Schengen Space, which is free of border controls.
Deputies are asking the MEP's to take a fast and positive decision regaring this matter, in which Romania and Bulgaria would gain equal rights as the other european member countries.
They also advised that a slower integration in the Schengen Space would have several risks and could have a negative impact on the future extension of Schengen. The decision should be a one-time only process.
Deputies stated that Croatia should also be included in the plan as soon as Zagreb adheres to all European laws.
